It would seem to dust we do indeed return.

How amusing, the vampires of this city go thirsty, and we show ourselves bleeding dust out onto the cold dirt.

How would it be to cause violence, to send my war out now, eh? Instead of the carnival of blood amongst the symphony of war, we have dust flying, things turning to powder.

Novel, certainly, but I fancy lacking a certain color.

No, I just wasn't really expecting that. Though, I guess I should be more cautious about what is here and who can get a hold of information.

Oh, I think retrospect you will find the humor. I don't expect magic of this magnitude to last for very long.

Check the Doctor's former quarters. I'm certain a scientist of his meticulous nature took cautions to preserve our important specimens.

We've recently made a deal with the Millefore family. They are offering to put up a spiritual barrier around our ship, to help shield it from spirits and telepathy.

Make certain nothing else gets put up with it.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]ovar_9000
2008-05-03 05:02 am UTC (link)
Depends on what you mean by "war".

If you're talking about armies, tanks, and heavy artillery going head to head in an epic confrontation that leaves hundreds of thousands to millions dead, then I'm afraid I don't really see the point or approve of them. I respect people who put their lives on the line for something they believe in, but too many die because of it, which is why I'm glad to say there are no more wars in the world I come from. The last one we had was years ago, and that was only because a group of madmen decided they wanted to take over the world. They lost that fight, though.

Their type usually does.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]warconductor
2008-05-03 05:11 am UTC (link)
That is one aspect of war, to be certain.

But yes. Their type usually does. However, I have no interest in taking over the world, or indeed ruling it. My means justify my goals.

If anything, I am more likely to burn it.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]ovar_9000
2008-05-03 05:40 am UTC (link)
Is that right?

Funny how you "destroy the world for the sake of destruction" types all sound the same.

Hate to burst your bubble, Major, but that type usually loses too, and when they do, it's often a lot more spectacular than the others. Goes with the territory, I guess.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]warconductor
2008-05-03 05:44 am UTC (link)
Ahahahaha.

How amusing. You come just the day before. Of course we lose, Goku. But you're not hearing me right.

I don't want to destroy the world for the sake of destroying it.

I don't want take over the world for the sake of controlling it.

While those are certainly fine goals in and of themselves, it's not the goals that concern me.

It's the war. The violence, the bloodshed, the missiles and the armies and the thousands upon thousands dying.

That, is what we want. And sooner or later?

I will lose. And I will die. But such fun shall be had before that final day.

An interesting question, Lord Vetinari. Why do people such as I exist?

A just world, a just God, would never allow such people into existence. We are too dangerous, too prone to destroying everything if let known even the tiniest bit of truth, simply for our own amusement. We are selfish, evil, and utterly ruthless.

And, as you say.

We resist fixing.

One might theorize that God is not as long as we thought, but this place proves that that is both true and false.
